It is over 12 months since we moved in and we have never been happier.  There are lots of activities within the village and we have the freedom to travel from time to time knowing that our home is safe and that we don’t have to worry about arranging for the lawns to be mowed!

When our family and friends ask us how we like living at The Hermitage in Tea Gardens, we simply say “We feel we are in Paradise!”

The team and residents have been most welcoming and when it comes to lifestyle – well, the golf clubs will come out of the moth balls and tennis equipment not used for over 40 years will be discarded and replaced with a new racquet and sneakers!  Oh, for a boost in a more leisurely lifestyle and some much needed, increased physical activity.

My special thanks to the Crighton Team for their constant support and especially for the “little extras” offered to both prospective residents and residents.  Yes, this is a paradise to be seen.

We first visited Tea Gardens in 2002 and found a place that stuck in the back of our minds.We searched from Queensland to the Victorian border and were unable to find a better built resort that we felt at home with.

In 2006 we started getting serious and visited the B&B along with some friends.In the meantime we were still looking after our sick parents.  At the end of 2008 we put a deposit down on a house in Stage 4a, along with a few alterations that Gail Mullins (the CEO) was only too happy to help us with.

The staff are more than helpful and love to have a chat.  We have been in our house since September 2009 and we have great neighbours and we all look out for each other. We feel that we made the right decision and just love it here.

Since moving to The Hermitage there would not be a day go by where our original thoughts and ideas of living in a lifestyle resort have not been fulfilled.  This has been made easy by the exceptional professionalism and friendliness from all of the Hermitage staff.  We love our beautiful new house with its spacious design and abundance of superior quality fittings.  We settled in easily and can now proudly call it ‘Our Home’.

Having been in our Sydney home for forty years, we thought, “there is no way we could make a move”.  However, having been invited by our son’s in-laws to visit them, I was very taken with the lifestyle that the village offered.  When we saw the houses in the Hermitage, we decided to put down a deposit on the Degas.

As for the houses here in the Hermitage, well I could go on about them for some time, but I am off to our twice-weekly tennis and barbecue afternoon.

…the most enjoyable part of living at “The Hermitage” is the way staff naturally interact with residents in and out of business hours.  It’s like one big happy family except for the bitter hard fought tennis challenges.  Sometimes it’s difficult to tell who enjoys being here the most…residents or staff!

Not only were the staff friendly and helpful, but the residents made us feel most welcome when we visited.  We decided to make our home at The Hermitage.  We had looked at other retirement villages, but found the total package here far superior.

Meeting and mixing with most of The Hermitage residents prior to moving in certainly helped us to quickly feel at home.  Exciting things are planned for The Hermitage and we feel so fortunate to be part of it, hopefully for many years to come…….unless tennis kills us in the meantime!!!!!!

Over the past 5 years as we travelled up and down the N.S.W. coast in our caravan, we have been researching retirement complexes. In our opinion nothing we saw came up to the complete package that is offered by Crighton Lifestyle Resorts.  Space, with room to move both inside and out. Brilliant design of the individual homes set in well maintained gardens.

The build quality is superb, with attention to detail and every assistance from the staff. The whole team are very friendly, helpful and professional throughout the whole process, from sales to building to maintenance and the village administration.

We have been at the Hermitage for almost 2 years and we couldn’t be happier or more settled. Life is so relaxed with lots to do, or nothing at your option. We have quickly made very good friends with residents who share similar aims and interests in life.
